Alternative to Photoshop

Photoshop is packed with features and a full blown image editing software, however, most of us do not even come close to scratching the surface of what this application can do. It numerous menus and myriad of options mean it is quite complex and as such comes with a fairly weighty price tag.

The Gimp may sound like something from a Tarantino movie but if you have a Windows machine this makes an excellent alternative, completely free and works with all major image formats - this software can do almost everything that Photshop can do and carries it off with a swagger, this is highly recommended if you are looking to do a bit of Photoshopping on the cheap.
